Branch In Summer

I wait patiently for the Lord

Running ahead isn’t wise

Although my eyes report barren lands

Refreshment is underneath

If I worship pleasure

Temporary thrills spoil in my hands

If I worship my own understanding

Doubt and sadness mix poisoned thoughts

If I say God doesn’t care

Then I call him a liar and life is worthless just fire my self deception dire

I wait patiently for the Lord

He’ll instruct me

I wait patiently for the Lord

God I’m drawing close to you.
