Trench Book

Crawling through dirty rivers, mouth closed, wide eyes focused ahead

Hopes, forward, swirling thoughts in the head, purpose is hidden, flirting with determination

Suicide, close behind, begs for an audience, promises rest, talons for hugs, a tank of drugs to drown any resistance

I rather crawl than die, stained notebooks filled with tears now dried,

Now I’m on God’s side- Fully alive.

/

Living waters, clean river within, steadily walking, for and towards the kingdom, faith begins.
