Cheys’ Fog Lights

Problems multiply when I imagine being with you instead of holding my goals,

Passing building in the city I’m leaving without a goodbye, hopes you’ll never know,

How I wasted so much time waiting for a perfect hour and you to arrive.

Are you solid gold hook masquerading as the sunset a writer finds love in?

Pretty book with pages of regret in small print,

Am I fool deceived, up a huge tree jumping breaking my poor knees for the third time, looking skyward like why didn’t anyone say I shouldn’t try?

Getting harder to pretend your obligation isn’t erasing good we’ve tasted, sought after yeah chased it, couldn’t quite place it, separation I don’t think you’ll ever face it, is this smart or basic, need better eyes lasik, bent laughs again.

What are you thinking about after reading this?
