Air Cup

Led to an isolated island during a captivating dream, I caressed beloved ones then watched them disappear.

Some with great smiles, others with solid steel faces giving approval via head nods.

Then she appeared, wanting to say goodbye or stay somehow but sadly distracted, eventually walking away without a message.

Months ago, I would have been upset.

Weeks ago, I would have cried.

Days ago, I would have sat in a corner.

Yesterday, I would have tried to find her.

Today, I comprehend she is a cup of air without a lid to me.
