Rebecca’s Innocence

She walked away and I’m done

Watched her flee, watched her run

Over any hill, anything to escape my view

Honestly she’s

Better things and places

Weak love I have poured down drains

She’s innocent, I’m not

Too many sins haunting, she’s never caught in any cage.

Even when I was mad

I loved her more than anyone else

Couldn’t be enough and now I’m driving careless

Aiming for rivers, deep ditches

Bashing my car’s accelerator in

Finally arrived at her house

It transformed into mine

Right where I started

Rebecca left me here and I don’t blame her at all

Still I wish I could be hers again

Midnight was seen coming

Daylight was too fucking bright

Yesterday ended

Today split us from anymore nights

And I wish her the best I swear

Also wish I could be it

But I’ve got too many sins haunting, she’s never caught in any cage.

How do you know you love

When you are not the greatest thing for them

I want her to be happy with or without me

Yeah it burns

Great heavens, it burns

My ego screams and I join in, it burns

But if she’s free

She’s innocent.
