Restraints Smother

Anxiety owns your life temporarily

Paid taxes every aborted flight attempt

Sacrifices given freely via surrender

Years missed and experiences suffocated.

Baffled rescuers

Victim denying assistance

So much pain held tight

Pillow familiar

Armor from the outside really restricting escape inside

Don’t hate yourself

Don’t willingly drown in regret

Surrender is an orgasm for fear

Moaning worthless bastard in fragile ears

We are all damaged

All wounded somehow

Trying to manage

Without terminating the cause

Because it’s scary

In life surrounded by liars

Main culprit

Our own thoughts

Don’t hate yourself.

But what if, reigns

But maybe, stings

Why even try, laughs

Believing we are worthless, stabs.

Smothered by our own hands.
