I’ve lost a candle recently,
The only one I cared for,
It kept my eyes wide,
Prettiest light ever seen,
Gone in a harsh breeze.
While my eyes adjust,
Tears mockingly fall without warning,
Purging my heart,
From the best light I’ve ever seen I swear.
Life is beautiful,
Life is cruel,
You can give love and end up doomed,
My friends say I shouldn’t care it was just a candle,
They don’t know how brilliant the world was,
Now I recover from extinguished dreams.
