Arising Phoenix

When the rain stops breaking like glass on my body I swear my eyes open wider each time
Something about this cycle is different I feel it through my smile
Tears aren’t on the scene and I’m not sliced or cut deep like the other times
I’m feeling fine and for once I’m not lying
Around my head a halo lacks but besides that fact I know I’m accepted and worthy now

Finally, I can see, past the moment
Pardon me, if I scream in satisfaction
I can move
I enjoy my breath
Everything is coming together to congratulate my graduation from the dark space
I am no longer ashamed
To open my eyes again, and again, and again
Again, and again

Finally I know I am worthy of air
Smiling sincerely now and if you don’t like it I don’t care
It’s been a struggle inside a nightmare for ages
Enemies laughing mocking my tears razor blade coated cages
But I’m still standing with just a few bruises and cuts
It’s no longer my weaknesses now I choose to be
Whom and where I want to be

ALL I’VE EVER WANTED
IS IN FRONT OF ME
And I finally can sleep with a smile on my face
This is my life and no one can take my light away
Reconstructed feeling capable to say
Finally, I can see, past the moment
Pardon me, if I scream in satisfaction
I can move, I enjoy my breath
Everything is coming together to congratulate my graduation from dark space
Victory tastes like I have always dreamed
A beautiful fulfilling scene

I am no longer ashamed
To open my eyes again, and again, and again
Again, again, and again

Now when I wake I am sure there’s no mistake I’m here
Finally the sky is clear
No condescending voices near my days.
